After completing a Forensic Science degree, healthcare communications was meant to be a pit-stop in the Grand Prix called life. However, with my foot through the door, my passport in my pocket and as much free chocolate as I could eat (courtesy of a 'Chocology' campaign), I knew I was in for the long haul. What I'd hoped would be a never-ending supply of chocolate eventually ran dry, but my curiosity has continued to grow in leaps and bounds. I love being original and imaginative and I'm always keen to get to grips with the next challenge. At Just::, not only is this encouraged, but there's an energy here which is one of a kind and that's why I'm sure this is Just::the beginning.

Studying biology at university turned me into a bit of a geek, so when I discovered healthcare communications I was very excited that I could use my science background and combine it with some creativity. I started my career in communications in 2004 and I still love getting to grips with new disease areas, working with the experts and coming up with fun and creative ways of communicating. From touring the UK to educate nurses about erectile dysfunction to launching new drugs and campaigns to the media, there's never a dull moment and I can't wait to see what's around the next corner.

My first ever job involved attracting 500 docs to a nuclear cardiology symposium in Florence. When the event went well, I couldn't wait for the next challenge. And I still love getting to grips with new therapy areas and finding effective ways of engaging people in a health message. I believe in the value of fresh thinking and the business benefits it can deliver for our clients. And I'm passionate about making curiosity and invention a big part of how we work at Just::. It's been a lot of fun so far and I'm looking forward to what the future holds!

The first campaign I ever worked on was during my first year at university as an Education and Welfare rep, was encouraging healthy eating and safe sex. This fired my enthusiasm for healthcare PR, and after a work experience opportunity at Just:: I knew that it was the company I just:: wanted to be part of. As the newest member of the team I have much to learn from my smart and creative colleagues and each day I am challenged by this inspirational and energetic environment.

Since healthcare PR found me, I've been lucky enough to work with my best friends. I love the challenge of rapidly becoming an expert in something and bringing my academic background into my job. My highlights have been working on a play for breast cancer, a children's art competition for eczema, and seeing our story about a breast cancer drug occupying the front pages and headlines of the national news.

As a child I often flicked through my mum's Pulse magazine (she was a Practice Manager) to look at the (frequently gory) pictures and read the case studies.
This early interest in telling a medical story clearly stayed with me and since 1996 I have worked in healthcare communications, exploring my way around OTC brands, issues and campaigns until eventually landing in the world of prescription medicines. I've found myself often drawn towards hearts and cardiovascular brands through my career, working on high profile pre and post-launch educational campaigns.

Following a brief stint as an actress, I fell into my first job in Healthcare PR about six years ago. Having learnt the ropes in agency, I then went on to spend some time in the press team at Alzheimer's Society, which gave me a completely fresh perspective. My heart was always in agency though and I'm thrilled to have joined the Just:: team at what looks to be a really exciting time. Some of my more bizarre career moments have included pretending to be a marathon runner for a pull up banner (which I'm ashamed to say is still in use), getting Boris Johnson to pose for a photo and setting up (and attending) five press events in five countries in five days!

I fell into healthcare communications by accident and very quickly had to switch from doing media sell-ins about regional cheeses to launching a new drug for anxiety. Since then I have never wanted to do anything else, pausing only to have children and to travel. I love to find new ways of getting a message across whether it's through theatre, art or film and some of my personal highlights include devising a play about Breast Cancer and a book for children with epilepsy.

I was drawn to Just:: by their unique culture and emphasis on creativity, collaboration and confidence. After studying a drama and theatre studies degree at Royal Holloway, it was important to make sure that my career allowed an opportunity to be creative in my day-to-day work. For me, one of the most enjoyable parts of the job is engaging with many different people, having recently taken to the road as part of a national roadshow raising awareness of the impact of chronic pain. I am now keen to stretch my creativity in the world of healthcare communications and I feel lucky to be in a job where I am constantly challenged. I actually do learn something new everyday and can't wait to find out what challenge tomorrow will bring.

My highlights include seeing an obesity disease awareness campaign go from paper to BBC evening news, to working with a key pharmaceutical organisation to improve Global communications, successfully changing market engagement and communications over Europe. Just:: is a stimulating, fresh and fun company to work for and I am looking forward to coming into work tomorrow.

Desperate to get into the world of PR, I started off by working in the world of IT PR. It didn't take long for me to realise that 'software solutions' is not my passion, so I swiftly moved in to the world of healthcare. To this day I still enjoy the buzz of seeing the fruits of our labour, whether it be seeing a piece of media coverage or watching a meeting running smoothly. I also love the fact that we are constantly learning, whether researching new therapy areas, getting our heads round new policies and guidelines and even being trained on new techniques for brainstorming.

I was first attracted to the champagne quaffing glamour of PR at university. After the initial disappointment of realising it was all a myth, I found myself getting great pleasure from becoming an 'expert' on the ins and outs of conditions from hair loss to athlete's foot. Over the past six years my passion for healthcare communications has continued to grow, with highlights that include writing award-winning education programmes, creating innovative brand experiences such as the Lavish Loo for Ladies and leading successful media campaigns for high profile drug launches.

My first taste of healthcare communications came during work experience in university breaks. Over the past four years I've been particularly drawn to neurology, working on brands in epilepsy, MS and narcolepsy. I take a lot of satisfaction in creating compelling platforms for conditions that are often 'forgotten' by the media, then seeing them hit the headlines. At Just:: we're constantly seeking new ways to do just that. My 'best bits' include staging a play at the World Congress of Neurology to open a dialogue between people with epilepsy and their physicians, and launching a consumer media campaign to celebrate people living incredible lives with MS.

I come from a long line of solicitors, and I've always known that it was not a career choice I planned on taking myself! In my first job, working for a large medical practice, I spent hours thumbing through medical dictionaries and driving the doctors mad with questions. I love researching new therapy areas and talking to experts in the field. The very nature of PR has changed in the few years I have been working and I can't wait to conqueror the next challenge.

So it didn't take me long to realise that healthcare communications was ideal for me! I've been fortunate enough to get involved in lots of challenging projects from organising a global disease awareness campaign for osteoporosis to playing an integral role in the development of new acne guidance with physicians. In the regulated and complex sector of healthcare communications, the ability to deliver original, innovative and engaging campaigns, is (in my opinion) what makes people and the agencies they work for stand out from the crowd.
